The total of 17,104 christians equal to 7% have joined the ELCT/NWD in two years of 2023 and 2024 through baptism and moving from other denominations. 
This has been specified by Bishop Dr. Abednego Keshomshahara of the ELCT-NWD when presenting his Report before the members of the General Assembly(Synod), which is progress in the church district of Southern A at Muleba, Kagera. 
He has spoken to the christians who joined the ELCT-NWD from other different denominations, which are 15,437, while those who have been baptised are 1,667. 
Furthermore, he has said that success in two years is the product of the efforts of the leaders of the Diocese by emphasizing on service where congregations have increased in number to 73 through the "Ulipo Tupo" campaign. 
He said that fellowship groups have increased in number for 12% through different visits done by Congregation Reverends, church districts, and Diocese leaders.
