A renewed partnership contract between Southern A church district, NWD, and Bonn church district, Germany
On 11th of July, 2025, the second day of the General assembly (Synod) at the Southern A church district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania, North Western Diocese, a special event took place as there was a signing of the renewed contract of partnership between this church district and their partners from Bonn, German.
This historical cooperation that started in 1977 has now been renewed for a new era of 5 years 2025-2030, with the aim of strengthening mission work by action through social projects through social services. This renewed contract highlights different areas, including helping each other in diaconial services involving services to the poor, the sick, and the needy.
Another area is visiting each other on both sides for learning, developing relationships, and building spiritual unity but also developing church projects, all this aiming at developing the society.
Furthermore, this contract has aimed at empowering the youth financially through vocational education like carpentry and welding, and also providing them with tools that will help them be independent after vocational education completion.
Also, it aims at helping in emergencies like natural calamities, pandemic diseases, and other social challenges but also improve health services, especially in helping health centres and building structures at Rwigembe dispensary.
In his speech, Mr. Thomas Niyegilla, partnership communication personel of Southern A church district, said, "This long-term cooperation has brought positive outcomes in our society, we believe that the continuation of this work of God that brings us together in building his kingdom on earth."
On the side of Bonn, German, their message explained their joy in this step, confirming that they appreciate this partnership and that they are ready to continue cooperating with a heart of love and unity.
