Do Not Grow Weary in Doing Good, for in Due Time You Will Reap” Bishop Dr. Keshomshahara Urges Believers in Mbarara
Mbarara, Uganda – October 26, 2025
Believers of the Anglican Church of Uganda, Nkole Diocese, All Saints Church Mbarara, have been urged not to grow weary in doing good, for in due time they will reap if they do not give up, as written in Galatians 6:9.
The call was made by the Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, North Western Diocese, Dr. Abednego Keshomshahara, while preaching during a special service to open the Pre-Christmas Mission a gospel gathering aimed at encouraging believers to prepare spiritually for the celebration of Christmas by strengthening their faith and engaging in acts of love within the community.
Bishop Keshomshahara reminded the congregation that Christians must remain patient and steadfast in faith, even in times of trials and suffering. He said, “Instead of the Redeemer punishing the wicked, the wicked punished Him; instead of spitting on them, they spat on Him; instead of judging them, they judged Him; and instead of killing His enemies, they killed Him. Yet, His joy was in the hope of resurrection and eternal life.”
He added that, just as Christ endured suffering to redeem humankind, believers too must persevere through life’s hardships with the hope of salvation and eternal life.
The Bishop further commended the believers of All Saints Church Mbarara for their dedication to God’s work and for maintaining the historic partnership between the ELCT North Western Diocese and the Anglican Church of Uganda, a relationship that dates back to the early days of the Gospel in East Africa.
The service was attended by hundreds of worshippers and invited guests. The key scripture of the day came from Galatians 6:9:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
